My name is Aaron Flores and I am currently a student-athlete (4.26 GPA) at Palma High School in Salinas, CA. Ever since I can remember, I have loved baseball and one of my goals is to become a collegiate athlete so that I can continue to play the game that I love and further my education at a good college or university. My family has always stressed the importance of attaining a good education, setting high goals, and working hard to attain them. My grandparents and parents have made many personal sacrifices to give their children/grandchildren more opportunities than they had. I want to make them proud by always giving my best effort and showing them that I truly appreciate all they have done to help me achieve my dream of becoming a collegiate athlete and majoring either in Business/Sports Management or Kinesiology.
I believe I possess many qualities that coaches are looking for in a collegiate athlete. Both in the classroom and on the field, I am disciplined, hard-working, and focused. I am not afraid to take on challenges or put myself in uncomfortable situations because I believe that is the only way you can grow/learn as an individual and as a player. On the field, I take pride in having a "team mentality" and do my best to be a good teammate to others. My coaches consider me a leader on the teams that I have played on because I exemplify a good work ethic, hustle, and positive mental attitude. I am also very good at managing my time efficiently so that I can balance and complete all of my school, athletic, and family responsibilities.
In my spare time, I volunteer as a youth coach for my travel ball organization's younger teams. I help run baseball camps/clinics/practices for kids between 11-14 years old, teaching them fundamental base running, fielding, hitting, and pitching techniques. I also volunteer with monthly food deliveries to migrant farm workers and their families. But other than baseball, the one thing I really love is spending time with my family and friends hanging out and enjoying each other's company. Overall, I consider myself to be a well-rounded, responsible, hard-working individual. But at the same time, I can also be funny, kind-hearted, and laid back. I think all of these qualities are ones that make me unique and different from other recruits and would help me succeed as a collegiate athlete.
