Louis Aquila '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Louis Aquila. 

School has been very important to me and I have earned A's and B's in my classes as I prepare for high school.  I would love to attend college and earn a Bachelors Degree in an area of public service.  

I would like to strive to be the best baseball player I can be.  I have played baseball my entire life and I have been fortunate enough to have had some great coaches and great opportunities.  I have achieved some memorable accomplishments including winning the MLB Hit, Pitch, & Run competition in my area and placing second in the whole Central Valley of California.  My teams have achieved many championships and I have  had the opportunity to play as an All-Star, including a team that won third place in the state.

In 2017, I completed my Freshman season with an 8-1 record and a 0.87 ERA. I won Defensive MVP for my team with 70 strike outs in 62 innings. Our team went 17-6, winning the Valley Oak League Championship.  I was 6-1 for our Fall League team with an ERA under 1, allowing me to win the 16 & Under Cy Young Award as well as an award my coaches named after me, called the Louis Aquila Award, which is for an ERA under 1 for the entire year.

I have spent many hours perfecting my game, including strength and conditioning, from a local trainer.  I have taken several private lessons for both pitching and hitting to develop my strengths and improve my weaknesses.  My focus has been primarily on my pitching as I enter high school.  I am working on my control while developing my secondary pitches.  I have also enjoyed my time as a hitter, which I have hit for power with a good batting average.  I have a lot of gratitude for the many coaches that have put time into developing my abilities.

Outside of baseball, I go to church.  I am a strong Christian, which I feel builds my character.  I appreciate the talents that God has provided me.  I have always been a team player and willing to listen to everything that is taught to me by others.
