Hunter Baxter '15 Recruiting Profile

Competitor.  I am a LHP and I throw with a 3/4 arm slot.  I start at 1B when not pitching and have experience in the outfield as well, so I have always been able to meet the utility needs of my coach and team.  I have been playing baseball since I was 3 and have been on multiple All-star teams in CA and CO.  At 6'1" and 150 lbs, I am currently training to build up my core to help add velocity.  The natural movement on my ball makes it hard to hit clean, no one has hit more than a single off me all year.  I led my team in RBIs, batting .438 for the regular season, 2014, from the #4 spot and was selected 1st Team All-League and All-County as an infielder and Offensive Player of the Year.  I am always first in sprints, every time.  I pride myself on being the hardest worker, a supporting teammate and a timely play maker.  My goal is to play baseball at the highest level that my work ethic, God-given skill and academics will take me.  

Well-rounded athlete.  I played basketball the last three years and was just awarded the Coach's Award in 2014 for leadership and work ethic. I played travel team soccer growing up and was an accomplished amateur wrestler in Colorado.  I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the field. I am willing to put in the work to get to the next level in both academics and athletics. 

Academic discipline.  I hold a 3.50 unweighted overall GPA, am ranked 30 of 211 students, all while taking all honors and AP classes. I was named to the National Society of High School Scholars, my junior year. I would like to get an education in Kinesiology to ensure I am always around teams, physical fitness and athletic endeavors.  I am self-motivated and very coachable!  I am a great student and and promise to be a positive impact on any team I am fortunate enough to play for.
