Ever sice I was a young boy my dream has been baseball, my first word was ball, but as I have matured and grown up, I've realized I'm not going to be playing baseball forever. Yes, baseball is still a dream, but being a good future father and husband is a bigger goal for me over baseball. I plan on majoring in Ag Business, or Journalism. I am from Fresno where farm land is very rich, so I am surronded by it everyday of my life, and I couldnt be more thankful for it, but I plan on leaving town for college. I want to leave town because I really want the experience of living on my own, I feel like I need that growing up experience, which comes with, paying my own bills, buying my own food, and living on my own. This will not only mature me, but build me into the future man I want to be.
Baseball is a big dream of mine, and i want a future in baseball, not necassarily D-1 but just good baseball, where i can say I have no regrets. I am the grinder type, I am not necassarily the kid who hits the "long bomb", but i am the kid who will be in the cages for 3 hours until I figure out the right swing. This isnt because i am mentally weak, it is because I want to be great, I feel like if I am taking that many more swings than someone else, I am getting that much better than someone else. It is very hard to show a coach this mentality that I have when he doesnt know me, so i havent neccasarily recieved much recognition, ecspecially when I have two future draft picks in the same line-up as me. Even though little recognition can discourage most people, it doesnt get me down, because I am one of very few players who doesnt take this game for granted, I know I have limited time on the field, and I want to give it everything I have, everday on and off the field.
My dream isnt ultimately to play D-1 baseball, yes, it is one of my goals, but my major goal is to get a degree and become a good man, a good father, and a good husband. Baseball has taught me many things about being a man, if I worked as hard at everything as I do baseball nothing will be able to stop me.
