Personal Statement

I have loved baseball ever since my first years of little league (age 5) and club baseball (age 9). My dad was a top player so I knew playing college baseball would be my ultimate goal. I told my parents this and they have given me the opportunity to pursue it.  I take this gift very seriously as i work hard on my game several hours a week. I concentrate on all the little things that make you a great player, not to mention a great SS and middle infielder. It's all about my base and my feet thus i can make every throw that a high end SS has to make from the hole, behind the bag, coming in and all the cut throws from the outfield. I do this all with great humility as all my coaches over the years have noted. That little thing is what my parents are most proud of!

I also enjoy school and all that comes with it (hard work and the social part). I was the student body president of my elementary school in 5th grade and i'm currently in leadership in my middle school and will continue that throughout high school. I believe i'm a natural leader both in school and on the playing field. I believe i'm well rounded kid that is a good friend and teammate to everyone i have played with over the years. Also, it's required of me to always exhibit great respect for my athletic counterparts, my teachers, my coaches and my parents.

Lastly, my baseball aspirations go well beyond high school (play in college) and my personal aspirations go well beyond college (becoming very successful in my chosen field), but for now my goals are simple, get good grades, and play college baseball at the highest level.

If a coach at a university is looking for a player that will make the university proud with great leadership skills to go along with great baseball skills, then i hope to be on their radar.

  • 2016 Tri-Valley Babe Ruth / Tri-Valley Babe Ruth All-Stars (15's plus Summer All-Stars)
  • My 14 yr. old Babe Ruth All-Star team repeated as National Champs this past August in Westfield, MA. We went 15-0 for the summer while beating teams from Nor Cal, So. Cal, AZ, HI, NV, OH, FL, MA, NJ and ND. We went 7-0 in the WS matching that record with just one other team in Babe Ruth history. I lead my team in hits, extra-base hits and RBI's for the summer and was named All World Series Team SS for the second consecutive year.
  • 2015 Tri-Valley Babe Ruth (13-15 and 13 yr. old Babe Ruth Allstars)
  • Tri-Valley Babe Ruth (TVBR) is nationally known Babe Ruth league. TVBR has competed in 12 World Series in the past 15 years and won 6 titles. Jack hit .595 for the entire summer and fielded it at SS at around .950.

  • Camp/Event
  • Nevada-Reno Team Camp
  • 10/01/16 to 10/02/16
  • Played SS for the Danville Hoots 17U team. I played well and my coach Don Johns had a good conversation with the coaching staff about me.
  • Camp/Event
  • Perfect Game
  • 9/09/16 to 9/11/16
  • Played SS for the Danville Hoots 17U team. We went 3-1 while finishing out of title game.
  • Camp/Event
  • 14 yr. old Babe Ruth World Series
  • 8/11/16 to 8/18/16
  • We repeated as World Series Champions (7-0) this past summer. While hitting in the 3-hole, i hit .525 with a team leading 14 RBI's. I also earned All World Series Team (SS) honors for the 2nd consecutive World Series.
  • Camp/Event
  • UCLA Team Camp Showcase
  • 1/17/16 to 1/18/16
  • I was honored to be invited by The Danville Hoots Connie Mack program (Danville, CA) to participate in this top college showcase. I was the only 14 year old 8th grader in attendance so that made it even more special. In this showcase format, I played 9 innings of defense split between SS and 2B with two seniors. I had just shy of a dozen chances and completed each play including the back end of two double plays (one from SS and one from 2B). I only had two plate appearances going one for one (line drive single to LCF) and a walk. In addition to the games, I took batting practice and infield practice with the UCLA coaching staff. I learned a ton from this experience both on and off the field playing with some of the top high school players from Nor Cal and So Cal. My head coach received some positive comments about my play from coaches in attendance.
  • Camp/Event
  • Aera Code Baseball - Eric Cressey Sports Performance
  • 12/05/15 to 12/05/15
  • An invite only combine for baseball players with collegiate baseball aspirations. it was 100% metrics and baseball specific/position specific training. Jack was one of only two 8th graders invited and he measured up quite well in the 60, the shuttle, medicine ball throw and vertical jump. Great educational camp as to training the elite athlete.
  • Camp/Event
  • Invite Only - Nike ID Camp
  • 11/29/15 to 11/29/15
  • Jack was one of 45 players from Northern California invited to the camp evenly divided by 7th, 8th and 9th graders. Jack played his primary position of SS and secondary position of 2B throughout the camp (workout part and game). The camp was a nice measuring stick as to the other top players in Northern California and Jack stood out as one of the top players throughout the camp. Getting a tour of Cal's facilities was another highlight for Jack.
  • Camp/Event
  • Babe Ruth World Series
  • 8/15/15 to 8/22/15
  • I lead my 13 yr old Babe Ruth Team to the 2015 World Series Championship in Jamestown, NY. During the 2 month and 18 game event, i hit .625 and was awarded the MVP of both the State Championship and Pacific Southwest Regional tournaments and was later named to the All World Series Team SS in the World Series. From the 3-hole, I lead the team in every offensive category except RBI's (2 short of leader). I accepted these awards with great humility like my parents taught me and i praised my teammates for playing great as well.
  • Camp/Event
  • Invite Only - USA Baseball
  • 6/15/15 to 6/17/15
  • Jack competed with the born in 2001 age group and was one a very few 7th graders (just finished 7th grade). Jack's metrics were strong and he played 3 strong games at SS while going 8 for 12. He was recognized by USA Baseball and chosen as an alternate as the SS chosen in front of him was already in High School. Overall, it was a great experience for his first showcase of any kind.

Training

  • Wellman Sports (Brad Wellman) San Ramon, CA

Jack works 6 hours a week with Brad and his staff on hitting, fielding and weight training as he helps Jack prepare for HS and College baseball.. Brad believes Jack has a great chance to play varsity baseball next year as freshman and will continue on to play to play D1 baseball after HS.
