My desire is to continue my athletic and academic careers. While I have not made a decision on a long term, specific academic pursuit, my interests lie in mathematics and science. I am interested in many possibilities surrounding these areas from engineering to medicine to education as potential fields of study and careers.
As for athletics, I have a sincere desire to continue to pursue a collegiate career in baseball. I'm passionate about the game and the continued challenges it presents. I also deeply value the opportunity it affords to be a member of a team. I have seen many successes in my short baseball career, being an All Star at every level I've played to date. And while I've been taught many lessons and techniques from many expert coaches which I've been lucky enough to play for, the game itself has taught me many valuable lessons. I have learned what it means to be in pressure situations, how it feels to succeed, how it feels to fail and most importantly how to handle both. It's also taught me the value of preparation and the ethic necessary to always seek improvement.
I've found that for me, academics and athletics are not separate but rather linked. As such, I don't believe I can have a true and fulfilling collegiate experience without both. Therefore my immediate goal is to continue to improve as both a student and an athlete and put myself in the best position possible to achieve my next goal, to become a collegiate student-athlete at an institution that will serve my academic interests and with a baseball program which will allow me to continue to improve as a ball player and as a person.
