Personal Statement

I started the sport of wrestling when i was 5 years old. I still remember the first day of practice, my dad helped me put on my new size 2 wrestling shoes, and my huge headgear that kept falling off my head. Now I'm 17 years old. There are 3 things I cherish most in my life, School, Family, and Wrestling. My parents have always pushed me to have good grades. In the term, "Student Athlete", student comes first. So I strive to keep above a 3.5 GPA, while challenging myself with AP and honors classes. I would never be where I am now without the help of my parents and my brother.  I've had one goal all throughout my 11 years of wrestling. And that is to have a gold medal around my neck at the end of the state tournament. Every day I walk into my wrestling room with that goal in mind. Going through long grueling practices, having endless live sessions with my coaches. Nonstop sprints back and forth hundreds of times a day. One would have to be out of their mind to play this sport. Yet I come back everyday thirsty for more.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsI have achieved High Honor Roll (3.5 to 4.0 GPA) every 9 weeks throughout high school.
  • ActivitiesI volunteer at my church as a leader to middle school youth group every week. On Sundays I help teach the little kids at Sunday school, This past summer I went on a mission trip to El Salvador going there was such an amazing adventure. Not only did I learn to value what I have here. but I also got to help hundreds of less fortunate people while I was down there, I also was involved in a program called the Pittsburgh Project this is where my church team and I went into the city for a week and helped to rebuild/clean up the poorer parts of the city. Summer of 2013 I did the same thing but this time I was in New York City.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
