I am the oldest of four and my role as big brother is to set a positive example for my brothers and sister in all that I do. And though I make mistakes, I can learn from them and show them that even through failure you can succeed.
I have been wrestling since second grade. It was something I had to work at and continue to work at every day on and off the mat because I love the sport. Through hard work, extra practices and self-motivation, I am that guy now that no one wants to wrestle (in a match or in practice)—aggressive, relentless, determined and I have a gas tank that can go on forever.
I am extremely committed to being able to compete and win at every level of wrestling. Here are just a few of my most important accomplishments: 3rd at HS state my freshmen year, State Runner up my sophomore year, defeated four state finalists in route to a 2016 Reno TOC 5th place finish, earned a spot on the Oklahoma Schoolboy National Dual Team and was a Schoolboy Greco All American, qualified for Fargo twice as a Cadet in both Freestyle and Greco and was selected for the Oklahoma Cadet National Dual Team two times. My dedication to the sport does not stop there. For the past two years, I have worked one on one with youth wrestlers and this spring I became a bronze level USA Wrestling coach and coached cadet wrestlers from my high school team at the Southern Plain Regional, state and local tournaments. And to keep in good conditioning shape I participate in 5K’s and obstacle course events. I come in to the room every day ready to push myself and my teammates and know that this drive is what it takes to be contributing to my team, becoming an All American and to winning a national title.
My goals are simple: wrestle in college, study to become a firefighter with an emphasis in emergency management and be a good Christian role model for others. All of these goals can be accomplished with dedication and hard work. What makes me a good wrestler--strength, faith, and courage--will also make me a good firefighter and leader/man/son/brother/team member/coach.
