Zachary Pilkington '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Zachary Pilkington. I wrestle for Patuxent High School of Maryland. I wrestled 103 as a Freshman only weighing 80lbs and had an overall record of 30-8. As a Sophmore, I wrestled 103 for the second year in a row, I got 2nd place at States and Regionals and 1st place at my Conference Championships (SMAC). My Junior year, I wrestled 112 and finished 4th at States, 2nd at Regionals, and 1st in my Conference Champioships.  As of right now, I am currently a senior with a record of 31-0 and I am also ranked #2 in the state at the 126 pound weight class. I have been a Team Captain since I was a Sophmore and our team is getting increasingly better. Most of that is because of the coaches, but when they can't do or say something, thats where I would come in to keep everyone focused and pumped up. I plan on pursuing my Wrestling career in college. I just don't know what I would like to do there, as in classes to take and what to major in. Large colleges such as Universities, might be a little distracting, I would like to go to a small college, where there are less people and less distractions.  My goals for college are to go and wrestle somehwere I can realistically start, I don't want to go somewhere and not even make the starting line-up.
