Athletics have played a big role in my life since middle school. I played nearly every sport my middle school offered, and competed in volleyball and wrestling on the High School level. I was a captain on both of those teams, Volleyball my sophomore year, and Wrestling in my senior year. I've been raised to believe that whatever you do, leave it out there, be it on the field, on the court, or on the mat, and I firmly believe that if you compete with enough heart, you'll leave the match with something; be it another win under your belt, or knowledge on how to improve your skill-set.
I found wrestling the beginning of my junior year, and my only regret is not starting sooner. I fell in love with it, and I've been told by my coach it was the fastest he's seen someone pick up the sport. It's also important to me that I'm in an environment where I'm challenged not only athletically, but academically, as I wish to pursue a career pertaining to medicine after I graduate. Wrestling is something I'm extremely passionate about, and I really want to find a program where I can continue to grow and develop as a student-athlete.
