Austin Gould '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Austin Gould, I am a wrestler and a scholar.I have been wrestling since the 7th grade and have been under the constant supervision of coaches that have collegiate wrestling experience, and very strong work ethics. I am currently a captain on the Thompson varsity wrestling team. We have won State Championships for the past two years. Last year we set a record for most points scored by any team in state history at the Championships.. I placed third in the 6A state tournament last year and am hopefully on my way to an individual state championship for 2013. I have wrestled at 113 pounds throughout high school and currently weigh around 120. My coach once told me that if people did not laugh at how ridiculous your goals are then your goals are not high enough. My athletic goals are to win a state championship individually, and to move to the next level of wrestling and wrestle in college. I want to be nationally ranked and win a national title. I want to be a key member on a college team and be able to bring everything I can to that program. My academic goals are to go to pre-med, and eventually medical school. I want to utilize the mental toughness, and work ethic that wrestling has provided me and use those attributes towards my academics. I would like to become an Emergency Medicine Pediatric Physician. I want to do whatever I can to achieve these goal and work as hard as I can to be the best I can be.
