Mary Campbell '12 Recruiting Profile

Hi! I'm Mary Campbell. I'm a senior at Dr.Phillips HIgh School in Orlando, Florida. I'm the starting goalie, and I'm 6 feet tall, and 170 lbs. I hold the record for the highest number of saves both in a game (22) and in a season (230) at my school.  We're in our club season now and the DPHS high school season begins in February.  I can't wait!
    I'm currently the co-captain of my team. Last year, I was unanimously chosen as the 1st Team All-District goalie. Also I was chosen as the 1st team All-West Metro Conference goalie. I was also chosen by the Orlando Sentinel as the best goalie in all of central Florida. I've been the starting goalie since I was a sophomore.  I've been on the high school swim team throughout high school. This year I was team captian and I made it all the way to regionals with a 26.9 for my 50 free. 
I've attended several water polo camps including Pepperdine and Camp of Champions in Long Beach.  I was recently accepted into the ODP program and will begin that training in the next few weeks.
    Throughout my high school career, I've been enrolled in a magnet program with rigorous academic standards, called the Center for International Studies. This includes a 4.2 weighted GPA, community service hours, and a clean disciplinary record.   I also requires a practicum which has included travel to France and Japan, and has allowed me to host international exchange students. As a junior, my classload included 5 AP classes.  As a senior I have 4 AP classes.
    As a freshman I co-founded Club Africa which raises money for scholarships and school supplies for children in Sierra Leone.   Other community service projects include helping with Special Olympics and volunteering with Give Kids the World which provides vacations for terminally ill children and their families.
Currently, my major is undecided, but I'm leaning towards science or math.
I'm open to any program and I'm looking to move out of the South East region!
