I was only one the first time I touched a volleyball. It was in Salt Lake City at Nationals and I was there with my parents to watch my aunt.
I can't remember that, but as far back as I can remember I have loved volleyball. At every opportunity, I try to gain whatever I can from the situation to grow my game. Last summer, I had the opportunity to attend the USA HP 2 training in Colorado Springs. I was playing middle at the time, but was allowed to play all the way around. My coaches there recommended I look into moving to the outside so I would be able to play defense and pass. I took their advice and played outside in my high school season. When club tryouts came along, I knew I could make the "gold" team as a middle but was not sure about the outside being new to the role. I was offered a role on the "gold" team as a middle but turned it down so I could learn more about advancing my skills at outside. It was a hard choice to leave my friends, but I know it was the right choice for me. It has also allowed me to become a leader.
I am looking for a good fit as an athlete and also a student. I have a slight form of dyslexia which mainly effects my test taking ability. I am looking for a program that can support me in my goal to obtain my degree. I work hard at keeping my scores up and I never make excuses. I am a hard worker who wants to contribute to your program immediately through my actions and words.
