Megan Marks '16 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Megan, and I am a 6'1” middle blocker.  I go to Germantown High School and will be playing for Motion Volleyball this year with some of the state's top players and a great coach (18 1's team).  My passion for the sport and will to be at the top pushed me to work hard and get to the level of playing I am at today.  My senior year I finished the season leading the state in blocks along with a .370 hitting percentage. This year I was honored with all conference, all state, all area, and all county honors.  Additionally, I was a captain of the team and worked to lead my team every match. I enjoyed mentoring younger players and allowing them to succeed. In specific I took pride in helping to take the only freshman on our team from her spot on the bench to the second middle blocker position by the end of the season. Junior year on my Germantown team that finished 3rd in the state, I was the MB1 and led the team in blocks.

Although I am most comfortable playing middle, I am able to play any front row position and have done so in previous seasons.  As last year was only my third year playing club volleyball, I am continuing to improve every game and season, and am a highly coachable player.  I take direction well and learn very quickly, applying coach’s instruction immediately.

I have previously played soccer, basketball, ran track, and danced but when I found my love for volleyball I knew I wanted to put all of my focus into this sport.  I now participate in school and club volleyball, Environmental Club, Key Club, and Spanish Honors Society.  While doing all of this, I also maintain a high GPA, taking all honors and AP classes.

It is a dream of mine to play volleyball collegiately at a highly competitive level. I am looking for a school that will allow me to excel in both athletics and academics. I am generally open to all sizes and will consider all divisions of schools. Although still undecided, I hope to study something in the field of science, possibly environmental science.  I'd love to talk to you and see if I could be a good fit for your program!
