Samantha Kleyn '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Samantha Kleyn, I am a junior at Quincy High School in Quincy, Washington. Ever since I was ten years old I have loved the game of volleyball. I began playing in the fourth grade for a local club team, and from there I went on to play in junior high and high school, where I am currently on the varsity team. Volleyball is my favorite sport and along with participating in both school and club volleyball I also run track, and as a freshman and sophomore played on the varsity basketball squad.  I am very involved with athletics and enjoy being active.

Athletics are not the only thing that are important to me as academics also play a major roll in my life. Throughout high school I have maintained a high GPA while participating in clubs such as Drama and DECA. Recently, I qualified to compete statewide in the "sports and entertainment" section of a DECA competition.  I also have qualified to become a member of the National Honor Society this year.  Doing well in school is always a priority, although I'd rather be out on the volleyball court 99% of the time! Both of my parents are very supportive of me in school and in sports and are always lending a helping hand whenever I need it.

As an athlete and a student I am very focused and have a great attitude about my future. I love to learn and appreciate the opportunity to grow both in athletics and academics. I know that I want to continue my education and I am excited about being able to continue playing the sport I love. The goal for my future in sports is to improve my skills all around. Playing college volleyball would be an amazing opportunity for me to improve as an athlete, a student, and as a person.
