I've always believed in the saying "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard".
I first started playing volleyball my freshman year and I have loved it ever since. By the end of my C-team season, I was voted most improved because of the huge changes I had made in my own game and abilities. Being my first and only sport, I put everything I had into making myself a better athlete and volleyball player. Surprising myself and the coaches every year by my immense improvement, I now am a three year varsity player and team captain for the upcoming 2014 season, and finally feel like I am at the high competitive level that I've always strived for. Outside of practices, I work on position training, strength training, and agility 7 days a week.
Nothing makes me happier than playing volleyball and I couldn't imagine my life with out it. If I'm not in the school/club gym practicing, you'll find me at the sand courts, and if not there I'll be at the local YMCA playing a pick up game. I am looking forward to putting all my hard work into competing at the collegiate level and continuing to improve my game.
I have one older brother named Duncan who graduated from Western Washington University and a younger sister named Lilli who also plays volleyball but desires to pursue art in college. With the short amount of free time I have, I love to mountain bike and hike. Any outside activity will but a smile on my face!
