Personal Statement

For the first 10 years of my life I was a hard core swimmer, but that all changed when I had some medical setbacks and chose to exit the world of swimming. I had lost my passion for sports until I discovered volleyball. My freshman year of high school was the first time I ever touched a volleyball. I immediately fell in love with it and have never had a passion for another sport like this before. I made my high school freshman team and then joined a club team. Throughout my freshman year, on top of playing club, I went to the gym, team camps, high school open gyms, and even worked with a private coach to become a better player. Sophomore year I made the varsity team. I was the only underclassman to make varsity on a team of 14 girls. I always showed up early to practice to assist and practice with the JV team. I was always one of the first players in and last out.

I continued to play club and receive private lessons. Last fall I earned a starting spot on my high school team, which placed 3rd in conference and competed at the regional-level for the first time in almost 10 years. I received Honorable Mention All-Conference. I am a player who is dedicated to being the best player I can be; I go the extra mile. I will play wherever I am needed for the greater good of my team. My competitive spirit comes to life on the court; I am always communicating, listening, and cheering both on the court and on the sidelines. I am always analyzing and learning from my mistakes to help me improve as a player. I constantly want to learn new tips, strategies, and techniques. Volleyball has helped discipline me to focus on my education so I can be the best student I can be. I truly cannot imagine what my life would be like without volleyball in it.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
