Alexandra Lambert '11 Recruiting Profile

I go by Alex Lambert, I am 5'11, 163, touch 9'5 and play anywhere I am needed. My primary postition is a middle hitter, but for club I am middle/opposite and high school I am a middle/ outside. Playing at the next level is coming sooner than I expected and I would like to accomplish my goal to do so. The first time I was aware that I had the slightest recognition was when I was a freshman on the list of players to watch. This was a news flash to me that those four years in high school on varsity may not be my last. After my achievement of making varsity as a freshman, my rewards grew. I've recieved 2 scholar-athlete arwards, honorable mention, and 1st and 2nd team all-conference, along with 1 district win. My goal when I'm playing in a game is to keep the team composed and having fun. I am a very competitive player, but not the most serious player because if I am too serious I cannot play my best. I love to have fun on the court and push myself to make the least errors. When pushing myself, I tend to push my teammates too which includes bringing everyone together after a point, cheering and getting excited when someone nails a play. Every coach that I have had always pushes me the most out of the rest of the players because they know I am tough and I am the player they count on to step up and use my leadership. My personality consists of being very social, independent and joyful. As captian I know how to combine all of those characteristics to make my team succeed as a whole. I am not the fastest player on my team but I know how to get to every ball and read where a ball goes next. This year I was the player who requested an hour of conditioning 3 times a week during our practices. At first my team was mad but then they thanked me after we finished out regular season with one loss. Sometimes I would sit in class and write workouts down to suggest to my coach. He would use my suggestions along with his and my girls would be happy after our hard work. I am looking for practically any school to play volleyball in, not too small because I like big schools since my high school contains 2500 students. I am used to a mass amount of students. I would like to play out of state because I like being away from home and living in different places since it I like trying new things. My major is undecided but I have narrowed down topics. As a freshman on a volleyball team my goal is to play with a group of girls who are competitive and loving. I like being close to my teammates.
