Thank you for looking over my profile. My newest highlight video is from the Girl's National Championship tournament in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am very excited about playing collegiate volleyball and work hard on the court and in the classroom to make this a reality. Also, I have the Texas Tomorrow Fund, so my tuition would be paid for four years at a state school in Texas.
I began playing intramural volleyball at my elementary school in fourth grade and have played school ball every year since then. I am in my fifth season of club volleyball. When people ask, "Why do you drive to Austin just to play Volleyball?" I am always reminded that I love playing and I love working on a team with girls who also like to have fun and play competitively. On both my club and school volleyball teams I consistently play all the way around, and I am experienced with both 5-1 and 6-2 offenses. During the 2013-14 club season I had the amazing opportunity to play "up" with the Austin Jrs. 18 Cedar Park team. I am very happy to say that at the AJV try-outs for the 2014-15 club season I was asked to play on this same team again. Ashley Atkinson and Blake Vizzone will be our coaches. I am so excited to finish my club career on a great team with great coaches! .
I am very athletic, I am willing to work hard to improve my skills, I get along well with my teammates, and I am a great student. Because of my hitting experience and being left handed, I love the opportunity to play as an offensive setter and work at the net. I am a solid blocker and can “turn on two" if needed. I also love hitting on the right side which I do more of for my high school team. I am 5'8 1/2", but I can jump, and I am always working to improve my vertical jump and my approach jump!
On the court I am highly competitive. I’m fast, I never give up, and I am good at staying focused. I love the challenge of figuring out the other team and how to outsmart and outplay them. I am more relaxed and quiet off the court, and always hold myself to high standards - academically and athletically. I know that my experiences this cub season with AJV will allow me to improve all aspects of my game.
I have maintained a 4.0 GPA in high school, and I was very happy to be asked to join the National Honor Society my junior year I earned college credit in AP Art, as well as dual credit in Trigonometry class (A), and Pre-Calculus (A) my junior year. I recently earned 2nd place in Black & White Photography in the TAPPS State Art contest, and this photograph was selected for a showing of the top 50 pieces from TAPPS to be held at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor this past June In my free time, I love to ride my horse, Brooke.
I am looking forward to my senior year of high school and to finding the right college!
