Going to a great college and playing volleyball is a must on my list. I would love for volleyball to give me the opportunity to attend a university that I may not otherwise be able to attend. I am active in my studies and work hard to make good grades. I have good study skills and use my time wisely. I am a very competitive person and very personable, but realize my position as a setter demands more from me on the court to help make my team the best it can be. I have played many positions and understand the rotations and try to optimize my hitters based on the opposing teams defense. During my junior year, I was the starting setter running a 5-1 offense. We ended the season with a record 47-5 and making it to the Texas 6A State Championship match. This season was definitely the highlight of my volleyball career so far!! I ended the season with 1688 assists, 397 digs, 54 blocks and 43 aces. During my Freshman year I was not on the varsity team, but I was called in to play in one preseason tournament and during our playoff run. In our last playoff game I was sent in for a senior setter and had an awesome match. I ended up getting numerous digs and had a run on serves in one set that brought us back into the running. Even though we ended up losing by two points in our Regional Semi-Final (Region III, 6A Houston, TX) I felt very proud of the contributions I brought to the team as a freshman being called in off the bench in such a big match. I feel comfortable in all six rotations and had the second highest aces on my high school team during my sophomore year. I also had the highest number of points on serve during my sophomore year. Since I have played as a DS/Libero I am also very comfortable pulling off the net to play defense and my quickness allows me to get to many balls for my hitters. All in all I love playing volleyball and being part of a team is so much fun for me and a great way to be part of something bigger.
