My goals and aspirations for college is to graduate with a Masters Degree for Nursing. Specifically, in Neonatal Intensive Care or Trauma. My motivation to this career was because of my 2 year old sister. She was placed in NICU when she was just a few weeks old. The staff that cared for her and my family were outstanding at what they did. They had so much love and passion for what they did. I have dealt with the stress wondering "when will be the day when we will have to say goodbye?" when she was in the NICU after she was pronounced dead for 2 minutes. I will have the understandings of what the mother, father, or even siblings are going through.
I'm a very positive person, even when times get tough. My work ethic on the court is the same as in the classroom, dedicated and commitment. I have played every position since I have started to play volleyball (6 years ago). One year I was a setter, then switch to an outside hitter/DS, and continued that for about another year before moving onto right side, following Middle. I make smart plays when the ball is too tight or I'm not at the ball. I find what is an open shot before attacking. I help my other hitters when I am either in the back row, front row, or on the sidelines cheering away!
Throughout my years of being Captain on my club teams, I have realized that everyone is different. Everyone learns differently, takes criticism either lightly or offensively, etc. The way a captain should look at it as a diversity waiting to become a secret weapon.
