My volleyball career started in 5th grade playing for a local team as a setter, then in middle school I made ‘A’ team both years playing as a setter/ pin hitter. I started club 14s year at Tejas making 14.3 playing again as a setter/ pin hitter. Freshman year I made freshman A at Northwest High school and played for Tejas again 15.3 for Cindy Henning again as a setter/ pin hitter. Sophomore year we got a new coach at my High school (Amy Gaston) and I made varsity as the starting right side (opposite) hitter, that year I went to TAV west coached by Kaylee Fifer for club playing as a setter/ pin hitter again. Junior year again making varsity, my coach had us running a swing offense putting me as a middle blocker/ right side. Toward the end of my junior year school season I injured my ankle putting me I a position where trying out for club wasn’t going to happen with this reality and changes in my personal life I took it upon myself to take my senior classes online in order to graduate a year early, as well as getting a job as a pharmacy tech trainee in order to start my career in medicine as I plan to either become a doctor or pharmacist. I was sure volleyball was no longer a choice for me which broke my heart until I received an email from Tejas seeking players for their 17.2 team coached by Luis Nazario where I am currently playing as a pin hitter/left back, the feeling of being able to play the sport I love again after I thought it was over is a feeling few understand, which is why I am seeking to continue my career with the sport onto the collegiate level. As I am graduating this year It would be great to find a fit for this upcoming august, but I am also open to taking a year of community college and playing my 18s club year if that would work better for your program. Please get back to me with your opinion and or questions look forward to hearing from you.
