I have been playing volleyball since 6th grade. I have spent countless hours on extra clinics, summer camps, personal ball handling and private lessons. My goal had always been to play division 1 volleyball and I reached my goal by playing for the University of Houston. As time went on, I realized Houston was not the place for me. It wasn't my place to shine, it wasn't the place for me to become the best i could be. Now that I have a year of college volleyball under my belt, and have gotten the hang of things and have new goals. My goal used to be to just make it to D1. I realized its not the title that matters. It's how much work you put in. It's how much you sacrifice for the team, everything you are willing to do to become the best player you can be and the best teammate you can be. My new goal is to be the best version of my self and to reach my maximum potential. I want to be my best so that my team can be their best. I love the grind, there is no better feeling than working hard and watching it pay off.
I am very smart on the court. Ive learned that i can control not only my side of the court, but the other side. I make tricky sets and cause the middles on the other side to be late to the block. I am very good and seeing and connecting with my hitters, especially the middles. I believe keeping the middles involved is a key element to a successful offense. I have a strong float serve and can hit any spot on the court. Though my personal strengths may be hard to see on film. I'm a ball of energy, whether we are up or down I take it upon myself to be the spark. I'm good at lifting up each individual person and take the time to get to know all of my teammates. Volleyball is a game of momentum and strong mentality, whatever team can keep those up the longest wins. I make sure my team always has these qualities.
I love the game so much, and would do anything to improve. I will always strive to better myself on and off the volleyball court. I aspire to go to the college with the highest level of play possible, while still being able to reach my personal goals. I will push myself beyond the limits. I want to work hard and I want to win for myself and my teammates. I hope to be a player to remember, and a role model to my peers and family.
