Being a part of the USA Women’s Junior National High Performance Training Programs during my sophomore and Junior years have been the highlight of my volleyball career. However, in life I have struggled thru many adversities to be able to achieve that highlight. As an infant I struggled with my ability to hear. I was born with over-lapping skin over my ear drum and had numerous ear infections, which made me partially deaf. As I grew older I had corrective surgeries and took many speech classes to learn to speak properly and more clearly. By many people, I was told that I was "different". Therefore, I worked to my fullest ability in everything that was presented to me so I could achieve and excel. My childhood hearing disability lead my passion to participate in the “Miracle League” for Special Needs Kids, which was a wonderful experience for me. Also, being from a military family I volunteered for “Carry The Load” For Troops Charity Event.
These experiences through my life have helped me grow as a person and lead me to re-focus my own efforts on becoming a solid Libero/DS capable of playing at the college level. I learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership thru my highlights, struggles, and charity work. I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As a four year varsity player combined with my overwhelming strive to become a leader in the community, I know that I have what it takes to be a contributing factor on your team!
