My name is Mariah Smith but I go by Janie. I go to Red Bank High School, I am on the varsity volleyball team and have been for 3 years now. I have decided that I want to play volleyball in college because I love the environment of being on the team and being a leader. I really like NAIA schools or D2 but I will be thankful for anything I can get. I am also in JROTC and have learned great leadership skills that I would put forth to my teammates. I am a fun person to be around and very outgoing, I am not afraid to be myself. I am 5ft 10 in. and I am a great candidate for volleyball because of my height and athletic ability. I am currently an outside hitter but I have played the whole front line before and I am a very consistent hitter. I want to prove everyone wrong who has ever doubted me about playing volleyball in college. Academically wise I make A's and B's and always try hard in class. I plan to major in Physcology and minor in Criminal Justice or Criminology. I want to hopefully continue my volleyball career and be apart of another family at your college.
