I always thought I would only play basketball; however to my own surprise, my love for volleyball has out grown my love for basketball. Volleyball has become my passion. Starting my volleyball career my sophomore year of high school was not easy. I had to learn new skills that others had been practicing since middle school. Because of my late start, I have been able to show my coaches how quickly I catch on to all the skills and techniques they teach me. Volleyball has intensified my skills as a leader, team player, and hard worker. These strengths also carry over to school and the community. One thing I value greatly is that student comes before athlete in "student-athlete"; therefore, I am looking for a program that possesses that same value. Since I am a captain on my volleyball and basketball team, I believe I have the character and work-ethic to positively impact your program.
