~~My name is Daley Gosnell and I am a 2015 graduate from Wando High School in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. I started competing at an early age and had an active childhood filled with youth sports, such as softball, karate, and volleyball. Of these sports, volleyball was and still is my favorite. I also enjoy singing, hanging out with my friends, and going to the beach. I realized my passion for volleyball 7 years ago. I have been playing on school teams every year since the fifth grade and I have been playing travel ball since I was twelve years old. After serving as a starter on the Junior Varsity team as a freshman, I made the Varsity team the following year. I had an immediate impact as a Sophomore and began earning starting time and have continued to be a starter on Varsity since then. Each year my high school team has advanced to the lower state finals, winning it this year, and advancing to the state championship game. I have played on very talented club teams throughout my career, winning a variety of tournaments. My team won the Atlanta Big South Qualifier tournament in the past and currently place high or win each tournament we enter.
I am a passionate and obsessive volleyball player with a strong desire to compete. I am an impact player and I have a high volleyball IQ. I am athletic, and can attack and terminate the point, with aggressive swings. I am an Outside Hitter and also possess a complete defensive skill set that plays well in any position on the court. I have the drive to compete, with a positive attitude and I am coachable. I have the personality to be a member of any team, and to encourage others to accomplish individual and team goals. I have developed a work ethic that will help me be successful. I am committed to providing the maximum athletic performance each time I step on the court. My coaches deserve that, my teammates deserve that, and I expect that from myself.
I believe that with hard work and practice, I will achieve great success in volleyball. My parents have always emphasized the importance of being the best that I can be in all aspects of my life. I am therefore committed to being the best I can be as a student, an athlete, a friend and as a caring person. In striving for this goal, I want to play at the highest level of collegiate volleyball possible while obtaining an outstanding education. Volleyball has become such an important part of my life that I want to include it in my college experience and continue playing throughout my college career. I am therefore looking for the opportunity to contribute to the success of a high performing volleyball program. I would like to major in biology and study medicine. I know that with my commitment, work ethic, and positive attitude, I can make an impact on any school's athletic team and I want it to be a part of my life as long as possible. Because I am a dedicated athlete and student, I am confident that I will find a college where I can achieve my goals!
