My name is Kaysey DeMarce, and I am currently a senior at Lowell High School. I am 17 years old, and I am 5'11. I have played volleyball since middle school, and I have been on varsity since my sophomore year as a dominant middle blocker on our team, as well as a powerful server. I have received All League Awards every year since I joined varsity, and my team and I have made it to state every year since as well. I never come off the court, meaning that I play all the way around. I am placed in the middle because I am our tallest player, and I am a very effective blocker/hitter. I really enjoy and I am more effective as an outside hitter. As well as being a strong asset to our team in the front row, I am also a reliable passer in the back row. Though it is new to me, I spend as much time as can in practice, and in my free time working towards being an even better passer.
Volleyball is my passion, though I did not realize this until my junior year in high school. I broke out during my junior season, and upon the realization of my capability, I started to put in tremendous amounts of time and effort throughout the rest of the year and summer to better myself as a player. I spent every chance I could get in the gym with teammates and coaches, and when I did not have access to the gym, I was playing sand volleyball. I increased my vertical exponentially by doing so, as well as my knowledge of the game. Volleyball is one of the few things in this world that simply make sense to me. I understand the game better than any other sport that I play, and I never feel more comfortable than I do on the court. Though I have been improving constantly throughout the years, I would not like to stop doing so after high school. I would like to keep moving forward and growing as a player. I now know that I have the capability and potential to be something I never thought possible, and I plan on reaching this goal. I would be so grateful to experience this. College is the next step in my success, and I am eager to learn and play at the next level!
