My name is Maddie Hills and I play for the Defensa 18U volleyball team. Volleyball is a huge part of my life. Competing and winning at volleyball is really important to me, and I want to play at the highest level of competition I can. I am 6' 0", have a spike touch of 9'11", and a standing reach of 7'7". My club team, Defensa, won the Canadian National Championships last year, making us the number one team in Canada for 2011. This year, we finished 5th in the AAU Tournament in Michigan, and 8th in the Chicago President's Day Cup. We also finished 3rd in the Provincial Championships. On my school senior volleyball team we were 2011 Toronto city champions and competed at the Ontario Provincial Championship for secondary schools (OFSAA). This summer I plan to play for Team Ontario, as last year I was a part of the High Performance Centre for it. At all times, I am the first one at practice and I am very dedicated to my team. I always give 100% in every practice, drill, and game. My main long-term goal is to excel at volleyball in Division 1 at university. I am an honors student with a 3.7 GPA in the academic gifted program at Martingrove Collegiate Institute. I am also a counselor at my schools leadership program, and help to run my schools athletic council.
