I would like to be a college athlete because I love the sport and it will prepare me for life. Being a college athlete, from what I understand, requires you to learn time management and become responsible. I would like my future employer to look at my resume and think "I can trust that she will be on time, responsible, a good teammate and leader" because that's really a big part of being a college athlete. Also playing in college has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl in the stands watching all the pretty college girls playing. I want to inspire people to become better in what they do and try harder. I would like to be that one person that they looked up to and hopefully excel past me. I would like to be the player and person that all my camp counselors, high school players, and college players were to me.
I have been growing more interested in the business field. It allows you to do so many different things stretching over all kinds of jobs and opportunities. As of now I am thinking about going into law, taking over my fathers financial business so he and my mom can retire to the Bahamas, or do something in medical management because I have always had a strong interest in helping others. Now that I have grown and matured I have realized that there are many other ways I can help people that are outside the medical field.
I am different from others in that I have a natural leadership ability that allows me to be comfortable to step into a situation and take control when needed. I take great pride in that I do not consider myself bossy or rude, but in that sense I know when it is time to beat my team down and then raise them even higher. I'm hard working and dedicated to volleyball and am always looking for a way to get better. Right now I am working on becoming more consistent while jump setting and as always working to improve my setter IQ because I believe it can never be too high.
I also care a lot about the next generations of kids coming through the volleyball world. Over the summer I helped out with a lot of the younger kids camps and clinics and I am currently helping my clubs 12u team which has been a lot of fun so far! Ever since I was a little kid I have always loved to help out those younger than me. I remember looking up to girls in high school and college that would come and help coach me and my friends and how much of an impact they made on my passion for volleyball. In college I would love to help coach a local team and even continue after college to coach a team a local team as well.
