Teamwork is something people struggle with everyday of their life, whether it's for a job, with friends, or maybe even jusy family.  This simple, very misunderstood word holds more power and complications then most people would tend to think.  When I see people who say the are all about being a team player and then see them put into a situation devoted to teamwork, it's very surprising to me their decisions.  I believe if a person could take one single lesson from volleyball it would be teamwork.  I have never participated in a sport that's so soley based on that word until I started playing volleyball.  This has been proven to me over and over in the years that I've played.  You can have the most gifted athletes on that court but if they aren't playing like a team they will lose every game, every set, every point, because if you don't have six players working as one on that court then you will never suceed.  I know in my heart volleyball doesn't only bring me happiness, it teaches me lessons some people never get to truly experiance.  That is why I wanted to base my personal statement on teamwork because the core, the heart of volleyball, comes down to that simple, very misunderstood word.
