Katie McLellan '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Katherine McLellan but I go by Katie. I'm an intense competitor with a very fast motor and I absolutely love to play volleyball! My goal is to play in college and I work towards that goal every day. I take my academics very seriously and my intensity on the court is matched in the classroom as well. I'm a defensive specialist who attacks every ball with the intention that I will make the play! I'm fearless and love to win! I get frustrated at others who don't have the same desire and passion to compete like I do but understand not everybody in this world is the same as me and that's ok. I encourage and support my teammates and take pride in being a leader. If you are looking for a player who will play every point as if it was their last then look no further. 

I'm 5'5 and 115 pounds. This year (2018) I will be playing for CJV (Carolina Juniors Volleyball) 18 Elite. In 2017 I played for the Carolina Storm Volleyball Club 17-1 National Premier team. The previous two years I played for CUVC (Carolina Union Volleyball Club) in Charlotte NC on the 15-1 Premier and 16-1 Premier. I also played for a new High School Varsity team for my senior year (Hough). It was a bitter/sweet senior year of High School volleyball as I had a serious toe injury preventing me from playing a full season. The sweet part is that my team advanced to the State 4A championship game and lost a tough one to a really good opponent.

I have committed to play college volleyball for Providence. I'm excited to be joining the Friar Nation and playing in the Big East Conference.
