My name is Kaylyn Beiermann and I am currently a senior at Nebraska Lutheran High School in Waco, Nebraska. I have been interested in the sport of volleyball ever since I saw my mom and dad playing when I was little. I began playing in grade school and it became my favorite sport. In seventh grade, I tried out for my first club team named High Flyers. I made 1st team and played with them up to eighth grade. The following year, I attended Nebraska Lutheran High School which is a boarding school in Waco, Nebraska. I have started on the varsity volleyball team ever since my freshmen year. I have played Outside Hitter, Middle Hitter, and I also play back row. Each year I play volleyball, the more my love for the sport grows. I would love to have the opportunity to play college volleyball. The down side of attending a school away from home is that I have not had the option to play club volleyball throughout the years. However, I have taken advantage of every chance I get to improve my skills. I have been involved in many volleyball camps, personal trainings, summer leagues, and spring leagues.
I strived to get better with my individual skill. Although individual skill is important in volleyball, being a good team player is also very important. Being a great team player involves doing everything you can to help out your teammates and do what’s best for the team. Showing good teamwork also involves showing leadership. I show good roles of leadership and have been floor captain for varsity ever since sophomore year. I am willing to work hard in everything I do on the court as well as in the classroom. I believe in giving my teachers and coaches the utmost respect and I will show that I am willing to do what it takes to meet goals.
