I have always been around or played sports. My sister was always playing something and I was in the stands cheering her on until I was old enough to start playing, too. I played soccer, softball, and basketball when I was younger. When I was around the age of 8 my sister tried out for the junior high volleyball team and that's when my interest began, but there weren't many avenues for me to pursue. That summer I went to my first camp and one of the girls told me "to keep practicing and I'd go far." Those words inspired me. By the time I was 10 a club was started in my area and I couldn't wait to play. I played all positions that year, but I fell in love with setting. Following the club season I went to a couple of college camps and still do in order to become better. Our school doesn't have school sports in 7th grade so I became the manager of the high school team in order to be around the sport I love and continue to learn. The next year I made the "A" team. My freshman year I made the JV team to start the year, but within 3 weeks I was starting on varsity and was voted "Rookie of the Year" by my teammates. I continue to be a starter on varsity where we currently run a 5-1 offense with me at the helm. I also continue to play club ball. Last season I changed clubs and am competing at a much higher level. With the coaches I have and the worked I have put forth I am hoping to play college volleyball while I study in college. I am planning to study kinesiology and exercise science , my love for sports and science has me interested in studying the body and how it works. My goal for this summer is to play in the national tournament in June.
