Kelli Burns '10 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kelli Burns and I am currently a Senior at Watertown-Mayer HS. I have been a tri-athlete all my life and have always managed my grades. I played Varsity Softball my entire high school career. I play softball all year round whether its just practicing or playing summer and fall ball. I have been a pitcher my entire softball career and also an all around player. I am, however, most comfortable in the field. At the end of the 2008-2009 season I was awarded the KDUZ All Area Softball Team award. I was also a part of the Varsity Volleyball team my sophmore through senior year. I am an strong outside hitter and a weak right side. The floor is my friend...I absolutely love digging! I know that it was a good match if there are a few battle wounds. During this past season I spent sometime as a libero for the high school team. In the end I was ranked 40th in State with 270 digs. I had also received the best hustler award and Wright County All Conference. I have always been very good with managing my time and school work along with my sports. I have been on the B Honor Roll since freshmen year and range from 3.1-3.5 GPA category. I was involved in the choir and FFA for one year. I have always taken my life in sports very seriously. I weight lift during the off seasons and go to some clinics too. I am looking forward to the chance to play in college. For my search for athletics in college I have decided to look at DII and DIII schools. I hope to get a degree in Environmental Science(Wildlife Management), Athletic Training, or Professional Floral Design. I love the outdoors and the aesthetic beauty of Minnesota. I am also looking for a close to home college. So, probably no more than 3 hours away from my family. My family is very important and I have two younger siblings of whom I wouldn't want to miss a thing. A few of the colleges I have visited and look forward to visiting are Winona State, Bemidji State, and University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
