Let me start out by saying I play volleyball for no other reason than that I love the game and it makes me happy. My name is Callie Mack and I am currently a sophomore at Mound Westonka High School in Minnesota. I am 5'7", 140lbs, and have been playing volleyball for five years now. I am a setter for my highschool program and a libero for my club program, but I'm definitely a defensive player at heart. My approach is 107" and my block is 102". My accomplishments in high school and club volleyball are listed below and continue to grow. High School: All Conference Honorable Mention (Freshman, Sophomore), 2010 Gold All-State Academic Team, MN Breakdown Top 50 Upcoming Sophomores and Top 75 Upcoming Juniors, 2010 Prep Volleyball Best Varsity Playing Sophomores. Club: Freshman year- Fusion Showcase-2nd, Northern Lights Thaw-1st, NJC SPVB-1st, AAU Jr. Nat.'s-5th, Sophomore year- ASICS Omaha President's Day-11th, Fusion Showcase-13th. I know I would be a valuable asset to my team on and off the court. First, I have strong leadership experience because I have three years as a varsity starter under my belt and was also a high school captain as a sophomore. My teammates can always rely on me. Next, I am a competitor down to the core. My parents were both college athletes and I know I inherited their genes, because there is no bone in my body that doesn't want to win and be the best at what I do. Also, I am a very dedicated student athlete. I have maintianed a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and can be counted on to get the job done. Finally, I'm the hardest worker on the court. I never quit and always strive to improve. Looking forward to college, I am keeping my options open. I haven't narrowed down exactly where I want to go on the map yet because I don't want to be too far from my family, but at the same time I don't want to miss out on any opportunity that presents itself. However, I do know that I want to go to an urban or suburban school that is most selective or selective. The college majors I am interested in include journalism, business, architecture, and art. At this point in my life, my athletic goals are somewhat broad. I know that I want to play on a team that is the best fit for me whether it is DI or DIII. I definitely want to play at a high competitive level and I would like to have playing time at least by my sophomore year. To get a little more personal, my family is most important to me. I have a twin sister, Brenna, who also plays volleyball. If possible, I'd love to play with her as long as I can. In my free time I love to go boating on Lake Minnetonka, travel, do yoga, snowboard, read, and watch movies.
