I am very excited to begin my journey into an accelerated course of study that will benefit my adult life after college. I am a dedicated student with interests in science, particularly biology, and writing. I am currently taking courses within our school’s International Baccalaureate program, which I like a great deal, and I have taken many other Honors courses throughout my high school career.
When envisioning my college experience, I always see myself continuing to play volleyball. In addition to loving the game, volleyball provides a valuable physical and mental outlet for me, giving balance to my life. I come to every practice with the intention of forgetting my other stressors, and put 100% of my focus into the workout/drills/scrimmages.
As a middle blocker, I make it a goal during games to shake off mistakes, because I understand that a negative attitude will not only affect my game, but the team’s attitude as well. I am a leader and try to encourage my teammates to maintain positive, energetic and amiable relationships both on and off the court.
I try to give equal focus to academics and sports and cannot imagine a life without one or the other. I believe I would be a strong contributor to a team dynamic, due to my drive to ‘be the best I can be’, and my efforts to encourage and build confidence in my teammates, so we can all be successful together!
