My name is Ashlynn Plasters, I have played volleyball since I was in middle school and I played a few other sports as well. Volleyball is my passion, and I knew I wanted to go to college for it my sophomore year of high school. However, I never played club volleyball because my parents insisted I play other high school sports, but it never held me back from excelling on my high school team. I was a captain three times during my volleyball career, and I had earned my varsity letter all four years. As of right now, I have 10 varsity letters from the sports I have played,( volleyball, basketball, track and softball) and it makes me the most decorated athlete at Milan High School, out of the boys and girls. I have received a few awards at Milan High School recently. One was the Jerry Cook award. This award goes to someone with good character on and off the court. I also received the U.S National Army Reserve Scholar Athlete award, which is for having good grades while playing sports. And lastly I received the Diane Szabo award, which goes to a girl ho has received 9 or more varsity letters and was the captain of at least two of those varsity teams. At my high school, these awards mean so much to me and i am very thankful I got them.
I take every sport I play very seriously, I am a dedicated player and I am always looking for fun while I play. I consider myself a leader where ever I go and I always try to keep a positive attitude while playing. On the court I am loud and always enthusiastic, even if I am messing up. I would make a great candidate for any team, I am an outgoing player with a lot of energy and I'm always looking to get better.
As I said before, volleyball is my passion. My previous high school coach never told me about recruiting and I wasn't sure how to set anything up with coaches until now. I believe it would be a great opportunity to go to college for volleyball.
