- Setter & Middle Boot Camp Do your Setters or Middle Hitters skills need a little brushing up before your high school season starts? Nicole Bayle and Aaron Smaka will be putting on a Setter Training and Middle Hitter Training Boot Camp again this year to develop and train Setters and Middles from the West Michigan area. July 15th - 17th Setter Boot Camp Setter Boot Camp is designed for players with setting skills looking to improve their setting ability and gain knowledge to bring into their high school season. Players will learn fundamentals and techniques to setting along with strategy training for setting at the high school level. Drills will give campers many touches on the ball. Campers will be divided according to age/skill level. Beginning setters will learn the fundamentals they much acquire for their development. More advances setters, in addition to fundamentals, will also work on decision making and strategy. Setters will leave the camp with information/drills they will be able to use throughout their upcoming seasons. Hitter Boot Camp The Middle Boot Camp will cover all of the aspects of becoming a dominant middle attacker/blocker at any level. You can expect to get A LOT of attacking reps (various quick sets and slides), do A LOT of footwork training including approach, transition, and blocking footwork. Campers will learn proper arm mechanics and not only begin to hit harder, but smarter!. Middles will leave the camp with information/drills they will be able to use throughout their upcoming seasons. Combined Session The final session of the camp will be a combined session with the setters and middles. We will be training setters how to effectively set the middles and teach the middles proper timing for a fast paced offense.
