Sara Thurkettle '11 Recruiting Profile

My huge passion is volleyball. I play other sports like basketball and track but none of those interest me as much as volleyball. I am 6 feet 1 inch and weigh 175lbs. I am very quick. My average time for a 200 meter dash during high school track is 28 seconds. My freshman year in high school I was on the varsity volleyball team at Benzie Central and was voted honorable mention. I also broke my school record for number of blocks. My sophomore year I was voted 1st team all conference and broke the school records for kills. I was also in the top ten list in the Traverse city Record Eagle for my kill percentage, my blocking percentage and my serving percentage throughout the Northwest region. My junior year I am a team captain. I encourage my team mates and make sure they don't get down on themselves. I keep a positive attitude and am always pumped and ready to get out on the court. I would like to play college volleyball at a school with a solid and good competitive volleyball program. I enjoy working to become the best. I have a huge desire to win. I want to major in the medical field. Majors that I am most interested in would be Physical Therapy or Athletic training. I would love to earn playing time as a freshman and to play at a high level of competition against good teams.
