I feel like I am here to make a difference. Not only do I want to change my life and grow into a better person everyday, but I want to help others reach their goals and dreams. Volleyball is my life. I love it more than anything, being with my teammates on the court are the best moments of my life.
Before the game starts, the team huddles up, everyone leaves their personal day behind them, we become one and its time to play. Shoulder to shoulder, circled up, you hear each other breathing and nothing else, that's my favorite moment. In that very moment we are apart of something bigger than ourselves, were representing each other and our school as a whole. I love that feeling more than anything. On the court, no matter how far down or how much time we have left on the clock, I continue to fight with my team for every point until the game is over. I have tons of energy and always try to keep the teams spirits up because when we can do that, anything is possible. I have been on Belleville High School Varsity Volleyball for three years, and I am starting my fourth year strong in the fall. I was the assistant captain sophomore year and got moved up to co-captain junior year. I have been told by many that I have very strong leadership qualities and that I am "the glue" that holds the team together, especially in the most stressful game time situations.
During club season, I play for the High Velocity Hurricanes. I have been on regionals for 3 years in a row and have been chosen to be a team leader ever year. My coaches have pushed me very heard so it has helped me build and maintain a strong mental game.
Off the court, I was raised to work for everything for anything you want in life because they best thing in life will never be handed to you. I work hard and strive to do my best both academically and athletically. Freshmen year gave me a huge reality check. I had a rough time in school at first; when I noticed that if I don't get it together, I won't be able to accomplish my own dreams, I made some life changes. Ever since then, I have been working hard to bounce back and prove that I deserve to play college ball and get a good education at the same time.
High school has been great so far, on and off the court, and I've learned a lot of lessons along the way. I am looking forward to ending senior year strong and pursuing my dreams of playing college ball next fall.
