My primary goal for college is to get a degree in criminal justice and/or sociology or psychology so that I can work in a career where I help people. I would also very much enjoy being on a team while in college as I find that my teammates become my best friends because we share common goals on and off the court.
I would be a great candidate for the team because I have shown that I bring more than just setting talent to the team. I was chosen to be a captain my junior and senior year due to my skills and leadership ability. I have also proven that I put the team first when I asked my U18 Elite coach to keep me out of the game even though it was my turn to enter the rotation. I could see that the other setter was playing very well and we were close to winning. I thought it would be a bad idea to interrupt the flow of the team by switching setters.
More recently, I was greatly honored to receive the 2014 Berkshire County Officials Sportsmanship Award. My coaches have always acknowledged a uniqueness about my character and influence on the team both on and off the court.
