Would you believe me if I told you I made an OPEN team the second year I ever touched a volleyball? Hello, my name is Taylor White. First of all I want to thank anyone who takes the time out of their day to read this. I also want to say I am well aware I should have done all this recruiting a long time ago. But unfortunately I wasn't aware of all these recruiting websites. I'm going to be strait forward and not lie to you even thought I know this may sound like a turn off, but I did not start volleyball until my sophomore year. I was a "walk in" at tryouts and the next day found myself on JV. Before volleyball I was a soccer goalie for at least 6 years. This time as a goalie taught me how to react fast, how to dive for anything, and how to attack with no fear. Ever since making JV after that tryout I have been working hard to improve my game. I found a private trainer the summer after my sophomore year and she drilled the basics into my head so I would never forget them. I'm a very fast learner and I love advice and criticism whether it be good or bad and I believe this has helped me. With the two-hour practices every day, all the court time as a starter, and a private coach on the weekends I was able to further my game immensely.
Out side of volleyball some things that you should know are, I can throw a Javelin 104.7 feet, I have struggled with dyslexia all my life, and I have a horse. Why are these important? Well my very first year of track I threw the Jav 104.7 feet letting me take 1st in leagues, 6th in Districts, and qualify for Nationals so that shows I'm a strong and athletic individual who can learn fast. But even more importantly is the fact that I'm Dyslexic and get strait A's at the public school ranked 5th in education in the state of Massachusetts. From this I understand the true meaning of hard work and I'm persevering and will stop at nothing to do better. I don’t need much to get me motivated; I'm a naturally motivated person, thanks to my up bringing and my supportive parents. I have a horse, which for the past 3 years I have tended to every morning before school and every weekend. There’s no such thing as sleeping in for this girl! You can ask anyone and they will tell you I have never complained about this commitment. Just like I have never complained about going to a volleyball practice. In all honesty I'm the girl who looks forward to practice every day. My life revolves around my family, my schoolwork, and my sports. I will put more blood, sweat, and tears onto that court and into this sport then anyone you know and I will be open to any advice. I just need a coach who is willing to put aside the fact I'm fairly new at this sport, and look at how far I've come. I made and Open team the second year I ever touched a volleyball and I'm nowhere near done progressing. I need volleyball.
