My love of volleyball began when I was fourteen years old. I came into high school and I was the only freshman to make the junior varsity team. I then tried out and made my first club team that winter. Since then, I have played on my varsity high school team and CMass Juniors club team each year. As a student athlete, I feel I can bring many positive attributes to the college I attend. I am determined to take the next steps in order to become a valued and productive member of my college community. I feel as though I possess leadership skills on and off the court that will help me achieve my goals. As a captain, the characteristics that help me the most are strength, honesty, perseverance and encouragement. As a player, I am a very versatile player who can dig, set, serve, and hit! I have a great sense of the court and my goal is to play smart at all times. I am interested in a school with great academics and a competitive volleyball program. Academically, I feel I will fit well and be successful in a smaller school that professors grow close relationships with their students and use various teaching methods to get the best learning results. I am interested in playing for a coach and coaching staff that puts a lot of time getting to know their players, and emphasizes the team concept and building strong individual relationships with their athletes. I have set goals and worked hard over the past four years to continue to bring my game to the next level. I am looking for a coaching staff that will build on the skills I have and help me set and achieve new goals so that I can succeed at playing at the college level of competitive volleyball. Overall, I feel I would be an asset to the volleyball team, and the college community as whole.
