My name is Shannon Salo, and I am a 6 foot middle blocker from the class of 2020. I first started playing volleyball in 6th grade, where I played for the Anglo-American School of Moscow's middle school volleyball team through all three years of middle school. I am now playing at a higher level of competition after moving back to America, where I play for Northern High School's Varsity team and South River Volleyball Club's team Surge.
In the classroom, I enjoy challenging myself in AP and honors courses where I have a GPA of over 4.0. I also actively participate in my school's chapter of Best Buddies International, a club that helps integrate students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities into a social environment, where I am the secretary. This passion for things I love carries over onto the court, where I like to push myself to the limit and be a student of the game. I love learning how to be a better player, so I feel as though I am very coachable and hardworking. I am determined to play the best that I can and I enjoy competition.
My goal as a college student athlete is to receive a good education to prepare me for the future, where I hope to study to be either an emergency room nurse or a physical therapist. I also look forward to participating in a competitive program where I can become the best volleyball player I can be.
