Samantha Goble '17 Recruiting Profile

    Hello. I am a senior at Johnson Central High School in Paintsville, Kentucky.  My collegiate goals are to play on a very determined, positive, and friendly team while pursuing my BSN in nursing to become a Registered Nurse.  I am a very hardworking, coachable player who is willing to work everyday to improve my game and to be an excellent teammate.  What makes me different and causes me to stand out from other recruits is my determination to succeed in both academics and sports.  I am driven by success in both my personal and professional life and refuse to give up on what I am striving to attain. 

    I have played volleyball for six years.  When I was a freshman, I made the high school volleyball team but only played on the freshman and junior varsity teams.  I was upset because I had always wanted to play with the Varsity team. From that day on, I was determined to push myself to become the best player I could be.  It was that year that I realized how much I actually love playing this sport and I knew that I didn't want my volleyball career to end in high school.  My sophomore year I made the varsity team and went in periodically for back row.  My team and I made it to the second round of the regional tournament and came so close to winning.  Due to that loss, I have never felt more driven to win.  My junior year I started varsity as a defensive specialist and outside hitter.  My senior year I started the season as a starting outside hitter then halfway through the season my coach switched me to starting Libero.  Both years I have never worked harder as a student and teammate because I knew I wanted to play in college.  Volleyball has taught me so much about how working with people and keeping a positive attitude can accomplish so much.  I want to continue my volleyball career in college because it is apart of who I am and I want to continue to work with others to accomplish the common goal.
