Megan Nilson '11 Recruiting Profile

I am definitely not a front row player, beings that I only stand at an inch over five foot, but height isn't everything. Im quick, and weight just over 100 pounds. Although I might be little in stature, I am big in personality and perseverance. I just recently turned 17 and I have been playing volleyball since the fifth grade. At first, I viewed volleyball as just a hobby, but as soon as I got into the high school level, I realized it meant more. My freshman year, I took the starting position as libero on the junior varsity team, and quickly gained the attention of the varsity coaches. By my sophomore year, I was starting in the back row on the varsity court. I began playing for the DUNES volleyball club two years ago, my first year playing local, and this year on travel. I am now the team captain on the varsity team for my senior year in high school. Education wise, I am looking to major in dentistry, and become a dental hygienist. Throughout my life, volleyball has only been second to one thing, my education. I have never fallen under a 3.7 GPA throughout my high school career, even with the advanced placement and honor classes that I have taken. I look forward to keeping my grades at a high level, and furthering my education. I would like to try to attend schools in the state of Indiana. In my opinion, all goals are realistic, if you strive to achieve them. If given the chance to play as a freshman, I would gladly take it. I work hard at whatever is thrown my way, and I give it 100% every time.
