Hello,
My name is Callie Collins. I'm currently a senior at Speedway High School. I'm 6ft 2in and I started playing volleyball in the 7th grade when my principal convinced me to do that instead of football. I'm extremely happy that I made that decision. I started playing club volleyball at Circle City after I concluded my 8th grade season. I have played at Circle City until this current club season when I switched for personal reasons. I now play at The Academy.
My school volleyball career thus far has been more than I could have ever asked. I have been a starter on Varsity since my freshman year. The past 4 years my team has won Sectionals and we won Regionals my sophomore year and senior year. We also won Semi-State and finished second in State. Awards wise, last year I achieved Most Improved and I lead the conference in blocks with 88 total. This year my career total of blocks was 248 and I won Best Defensive Player.
As for academics, I currently have a 3.27 GPA out of a 4.0. My grades dropped the second semester of my junior year because my best friend was in the hospital and we didn't know if she would live. Thankfully, she is alive. I've known what I want to do since my freshman year. I would like to earn a Master's degree, if not a Doctorate, in Occupational Therapy. For my undergraduate, I'm extremely interested in pursuing Psychology. I am a hard worker and will push myself to the brink for the game I love. I have a passion for this game that will never dwindle. I can't wait to get out of high school and get started on the career I will hold for the rest of my life and enjoy playing volleyball at the same time.
If you have any questions or would like to know more about me, please don't hesitate ask. Thank you for reading this!
I look forward to hearing from you!
Callie Collins
