Delaney O'Neil '15 Recruiting Profile

     My name is Delaney O'Neil and I am a junior at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, where I play volleyball for Coach Jean Kesterson.  During club season I play for Munciana and train under Mike Lingenfelter.  I am currently on the 17-1 team coached by Ginger Lingenfelter.  It has been through my training and hard work that I have come to love the defensive side of volleyball.  Stopping an opponent from scoring is a thrill like no other.

   My training at Munciana has cultivated a ball control defensive mind set.  I know that I would flourish under the training of a college coach and become a teammate my team can count on.  Driven Munciana girls explode with talent at the college level.  I know that I will do the same.

     I have set my goals high in looking for schools that will help with my future both athletically and academically.  My goals are set high so that I can keep pushing myself to get better.  College volleyball has always been a dream of mine.  I will work hard for my school and always give my best effort both on the court and in the classroom.  My academic preparation at Cathedral High School has been amazing.  My academic eligibility will never be an issue.  My academic goals will mirror my athletic goals in my pursuit of excellence.

     A motto of Marquette's is to Be The Difference, and after my four years of playing volleyball, the school I attend will realize that I helped make a positive difference in their program.  This is my sincere promise.

     I am always upbeat, happy, positive, and humble.  These characteristics combine to make for a great teammate and a coachable athlete.
