Personal Statement

Intimidation brought on by the giants surrounding me, negativity from those who wrongly predicted I could not excel at the high school or club level as a hitter, and disappointment as I was passed over, missing out on opportunities based solely on my  physical stature, have fueled my persistence, setting of high expectations, commitment and sacrifice. Starting as the only freshman on my high school team, being the lone player playing all around consecutively into my Senior year is proof that if you work hard and do not give up, you can overcome what others think you can not. Development of intangible skills and maturity along with a better understanding of teamwork, leadership, respect, and responsibility from the many years I have played, has allowed me to be a well rounded player, prepared to excel as a student-athlete at the college level.

Having entered the honor’s academy in my sophomore year, I had to play catch up from courses missed the prior year; meaning extra courses added to a program I was already trying to adapt to. Again, with sacrifice and dedication, I succeeded and continue to challenge myself academically.  I'm looking for a program that would be a good fit for me both athletically and academically. I believe the value of the student athlete experience is immeasurable. As I participate, these will further define me, molding my character and opinions for a life long experience. I hope to build lasting connections with those beside me on the court and in the classroom as I pursue my career, taking these with me as I begin my career mentoring to my own community of athletes.  I believe I not only have the talent and versatility to compete at the college level, but the maturity, commitment, and leadership skills that would positively benefit your program.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
